Hurunui Weedbusters return to The Birdsong Project

POSTPONEMENT DATE to be confirmed

Unfortunately we had to postpone this event due to inclement spring weather. But we hope to arrange a new date and return to the Birdsong Project soon.

Hurunui Weedbusters is returning this spring to the inspiring Birdsong Restoration site at Greta Valley. We’ll tackle broom, blackberry and patches of briar rose. If time allows, we will also deal with some willow regrowth.

Birdsong Trust is a community project that got underway in 2023. In just two years, local volunteers have done extensive native planting above and along the stream of the beautiful Scargill-Motunau Reserve, and built a new track.

Wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. We’ll bring gloves and tools, or you can BYO –
we’ll be mainly using loppers, secateurs, grubbers. We’ll provide morning tea, and BYO lunch if you want to stay on for a picnic.
