Leithfield Beach Northern Forest Walkway Project

The Leithfield Beach Residents Assoc commenced this project in 2018 with the intention of creating a native forest walkway and cycleway from the Leithfield Beach Township to the Kowai River track.

Starting with an initial 1000 native trees, raised by a local resident from seed, about 1800 trees have now been planted at May 2021 along the track using local volunteers. It is intended to plant another 2000 native trees this winter (2021) to complete the project along the 1.2 km track.

The strike rate has been excellent to date, at about 80%.

Mainpower, Trees that Count and the Rata Foundation have provided funding

The photos show some of the work to date.
